Getting Started

First-Time Setup

When the application is first installed, the database is automatically created and populated with all D&D 5e game data. No additional setup is required beyond creating your account.

1. Create Your Account

Navigate to the application and click Register. Enter a username, display name, and password (minimum 6 characters). The first user to register automatically becomes an Administrator with full access to admin features. All subsequent users receive standard user access.

2. Create Your First Character

Click Create Character in the sidebar to launch the character creation wizard. The wizard guides you through five steps: rolling ability scores, choosing a race, class, background, and filling in character details. See Character Creation for full details.

3. Optional: Set Up a Campaign

If you're a DM, go to Campaigns in the sidebar and create a campaign. You can select which source books are allowed, configure house rules, and invite players with a short invite code or link. Characters created within a campaign use the campaign's source filtering. See Campaigns for details.
