Active Buffs
Active buffs represent temporary effects from spells, potions, items, or abilities. They modify character stats in real time and are displayed in the Active Buffs section on the character sheet sidebar.
Adding a Buff
Click the + button in the Active Buffs section. The dialog has two tabs:
Buff Info — Name, source (spell/potion/item/ability), duration, concentration flag, notes. Includes quick presets for common spells (Bless, Haste, Shield of Faith, Mage Armor, Fly, Enlarge, and more). Presets are hidden when already active (no duplicate buffs). Some presets enforce spell restrictions: Mage Armor is hidden when armor is equipped, Shillelagh requires a club or quarterstaff equipped.
Effects — Ability score bonuses, AC bonus, speed bonus, extra attacks, damage resistances, condition immunities.
Concentration
Mark a buff as "Concentration" to enforce the 5e concentration rule: applying a new concentration buff automatically dismisses the previous one. Concentration buffs display a "C" chip.
How Effects Work
All active buff effects are aggregated with permanent feature effects and applied to the character sheet in real time. For example, casting Shield of Faith (+2 AC) immediately increases the displayed AC by 2. Dismissing the buff returns AC to normal.
